Privacy

Who I am. Distant Proximity is the trading name of Matthias Funke, a sole trader based in London. I'm responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach me through the contact form.

Contact form. If you use the form, I receive your name, your email address or phone number, your message and how you'd like me to reply. I use these to answer you and, if we go on to work together, to take the steps needed before a contract. If you don't provide them, I can't reply.

Technical data. Cloudflare hosts this site. It processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages, limit repeated form submissions, keep logs and check that you're not a bot, using its Turnstile service. I rely on my legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and free of spam.

Who else handles your data. Form messages reach me by email through Google. I use AI tools, including Anthropic's Claude, to help manage my email and notes, so they may process your message. Calendly handles call bookings. Luma handles the workshop list, registration and tickets, and Stripe processes ticket payments. Each of these companies has its own privacy policy, and some may process data outside the UK, including in the United States.

Cookies. I don't set any tracking cookies myself. The workshop list on the home page loads from Luma automatically, and Luma sets its own cookies when it does, including one that lasts about four months and appears to identify your device. Cloudflare's bot check may also store data in your browser.

How long I keep it. I keep form messages for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless we work together and I need them for longer, for example for tax records.

Your rights. Under UK data protection law, you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, ask me to restrict its use or give you a copy, and object to how I use it. To do any of this, use the contact form. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
